AIDSaware exhibition: Spot my face (and buy it please)

Those of you has followed my blog previously would recognise that picture above. It was the shot use for the AIDS Aware campaign, jointly organised by Ruumz and PT Foundation, in conjunction with World AIDS Day in 2010, where 42 personalities came together to raise funds and spread awareness about the HIV/AIDS Cause.

Well, the drive was much more than just selling the calendars with our faces (available at Body Shop outlets). It was also part of a campaign to get as many people as possible to take similar shots and submit it online for an exhibition. Well, the exhibition date has arrived – and it launches TODAY!

Unfortunately, I am in Singapore and will not be able to make it for the launch but my friends back there have been filling me in. James, who is the brainchild of the project, sent me some images via Twitter this morning, including some behind-the-scenes shots. Like this one:

Behind the scenes

From today (Feb 24) till March 13, 2011, head over to The Gardens shopping centre (at the concourse area) to view the exhibition. All 42 photographs will be displayed as well as the thousands of other pictures that supporters of the course – like yourself – had submitted. I think it’s going to be fabulous.

Here are some details for tonight:

  1. The launch is today at 7pm onwards. Many of the personalities featured will be there and you can bid (silent auction) for an autographed copy of the image. Can someone please bid for mine so I’m not the ONLY one who doesn’t sell my picture? I promise to sign it for you when I get back (if you want my signature lah, that is)! This silent bidding is only happening tonight!
  2. You can also bid for a dedicated portrait shoot by photographer extraordinaire Simon (who took our amazing shots) in Studio Pashe after the event.
  3. While you are there, head to the photobooth where Simon will shoot photos on the spot and printed using EPSON printers for a small donation, with a MAC “touch up” counter next to it, offering touch-ups for a small donation too.
  4. There will also be AIDSAware Calendars, Postcards and T-shirts for Sale so please purchase them. All proceeds go to PT Foundation!

It should be hanging up there somewhere, like this, featuring three of my friends Tony Eusoff,Lina Teoh and Marina Mahathir.

Anyway, the exhibition will go for a couple of weeks so please head over to see the pictures – not only the 42 personalities but also the thousands of others who has made the effort to support the cause. More details are available on the FB event page here.

Please support the cause!

Update – 3.11pm:

@cheng_vincent just Tweeted me this picture of myself. It’s huge! Eeks! Quick, bid for it! haha 😀
